Brian Fitzpatrick
Brian Fitzpatrick is a founding member and President of A Soldier’s Journey Home. He initially joined fellow ASJH members through another charitable effort focused on disaster relief, which ultimately evolved into A Soldier’s Journey Home and its mission of building mortgage-free, specially adapted homes for veterans with disabilities.

Brian is a veteran member of the Fire Department of the City of New York (FDNY). His first fire response was at the World Trade Center on September 11, 2001, an experience that profoundly shaped his lifelong commitment to service. He has served with FDNY Ladder 22 on Manhattan’s Upper West Side and previously served as Section Chief for the FDNY Incident Management Team, where he was responsible for logistics operations. He currently serves as the Citywide Interagency Coordinator for the New York City Emergency Management.

Brian’s extensive expertise in logistics is central to ASJH’s success. As President, he provides oversight for every aspect of each build, including lodging, transportation, materials and supplies, medical support, volunteer coordination, and communications—ensuring that each project is executed efficiently and safely.

ASJH’s mission of caring for wounded veterans continues to motivate Brian’s steadfast involvement. His son, Ryan, has also joined the organization, making ASJH a true family endeavor. Brian often refers to ASJH as his “second family,” with each annual build serving as a meaningful reunion centered on service, gratitude, and purpose.
